December 25, 2020Straddling the tricky path of nerd and adventurous visionary, James is gradually curving out a name for himself in the media production industry across East and West Africa. Alongside being Co-founder at Kikao.org, Africa’s answer to the famed Zoom video conferencing platform, James also serves as MD at Hekima Networks limited, a broadcast media company headquartered in Kigali, Rwanda.
His Linkedin bio is cacophony of buzzwords that could leave a lay man’s head spinning: Experienced Business Development Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the media production industry. Skilled in Linux System Administration, Macintosh Hardware, Linux Desktop, Management, and Software Installation. We caught up with James in our fan favorite 5 question rapid fire interview, and here’s what he had to say.
Who is James Njugi in a few short words?
I am a man out to see my generation living out their lives to their fullest, for God, family, community, Nations.
What motivates you to get out of bed every morning?
The fact that I have a mission to complete and others are depending on me and I’m a man under authority thus I grind. It was done for me so I do it for others.
If money was not a factor, what would you be doing with your life?
I’d be a farmer and would tinker with machines all day, it is my pet peeve to not see how stuff works.
What do you love most about what you do for a living?
I get to combine my love for technology and solving problems that affect lives at the end of the day for the better.
What are the 3 things you are professionally amazing at?
Strategic thinking, planning, deployment and management of media, setups from scratch, be it for broadcast, live gigs, or data center operations for distribution, I’m à good networker and connector.
