Throughout history, it’s clear that most people who are successful at what they do are successful because they are the first to introduce a commodity into the market in a manner that fulfills a need that was not being satisfied previously. This transpires across diverse industries for example; Science In 1958, Mary Jackson (An African American) became NASA’s first black female engineer. Due to her substantial work to the space program, by 1979, she had earned the most senior engineering title available. Political Former president Barack Obama became the first black president of the United States of America. Entertainment In 1986, Oprah Winfrey became the first black woman to host a television show (The Oprah Winfrey Show) which consequently led to her being the first female black billionaire and the only one from 2004 to 2006. Science and medicine Dr Charles Drew who was African-American invented blood banks which enabled medics to save a lot of lives during World War 2 among many others.
