Entertainment In 1986, Oprah Winfrey became the first black woman to host a television show (The Oprah Winfrey Show) which consequently led to her being the first female black billionaire and the only one from 2004 to 2006. Science and medicine Dr Charles Drew who was African-American invented blood banks which enabled medics to save a lot of lives during World War 2 among many others.
