Diana Omanga is a Business Development Manager at Crown Paints, a paint Manufacturing company based in Nairobi, Kenya. I have over 12 years of experience and expertise in several business fields.

What is your role at Crown Paints?

I bear full charge and responsibility for client engagement, brand engagement and formulating growth strategies for the company’s loyalty program.

  • Collaborating with business development, marketing, and product departments on the creation of competitive concept proposals.
  • Generating new business for the firm via calls, in-person visits, referrals from contacts and networking on social media.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with cross-functional business partners to facilitate the development and delivery of loyalty strategies and marketing activities.
  • Solving ongoing logistics problem resulting in the successful resolution of issues and multiple additional orders from customers.
  • Evolving and executing Loyalty strategy, developing marketing plans inclusive of necessary tools to drive purchase frequency.
  • Prospecting for potential new clients and turning them into increased avenues of business.
  • Performing periodic and post-campaign KPI reporting and analysis; analyze program
    performance to shape future strategies.
  • Identify database growth and future potential opportunities of the program in all
    markets nationally.
  • Approve copy for all communication that involves the Painter Loyalty program in addition to supervision, coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Developing negotiating strategies and positions by examining risks and potentials as well as estimating partners’ needs and goals
  • Documenting and tracking the execution of the Group CEO’s strategic goals for alignment where necessary.
  • Developing and overseeing marketing functions to identify key marketing strategies for successful new customer acquisition and sales growth.
  • Enhancing organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Setting, tracking and reporting activities of a cross-functional Innovation Management Team that reports to the directors.

What motivates you to get out of bed every morning?

My motivation comes from the zeal to get things done and create time for family.

If money was not a factor, what would you be doing with your life?

I would be backpacking across the continents looking to understand how things work in different places, what makes them who they are and whether we all stand a chance at changing the world.

What do you love most about what you do for a living?

I love that I get to continuously find ways of aligning systems, people, and communication with the goal of changing the lives of painters who have become solid brand ambassadors over the last 3 years.
