Are you willing to sacrifice it all in order to make it?
August 29, 2018
Imagine finding your passion in life, turning it into a business that is sure to continue being successful then having to sell your business in the end. This is one of the tough decisions Suzie Wokabi who is the founder, brand ambassador and creative director of Suzie Beauty had to make regarding her company in order to ensure it continues to thrive.
It got to a point where we were faltering. We couldn’t handle it anymore. Resources, ability, even our investors were not helping anymore. Suzie WokabiAround the time Suzie knew her business was sinking and taking water fast was when she met the owner of the Flame tree group who was willing take a chance on the business but only under the condition that he gets full acquisition of it. “No way! We have been retailing for four years and this is still our child so how can I sell?” was Suzie’s initial thought process. She swiftly realized that if she didn’t let go and let someone else grow the business to its full potential, Suzie beauty would not survive. Because of the involvement of family (Suzie Wokabi’s husband) in the creation of the business, it was a tough battle to agree on all this but in the end, the decision made was the only clear way that assured the survival of Suzie beauty. It was such a big girl decision to make as she puts it but it was one that had to be made. By the end 2015 the brand was acquired and Suzie got to get the title she always wanted which is Chief creative director. She now has the help she needed to make sure Suzie beauty thrives and grows. Suzie Wokabi, was a guest at Un.thinkable roast (our monthly 10X Growth Leaders Meet-up) in June 2018. Click here to apply for membership in Un.thinkable.
